DIRECTIONS

To Greenport: From NYC or Islip, take the Long Island Expressway (I-495) to exit 73 (last exit), CR-58 East/Old Country Road toward Greenport/Orient Point.  Pass 1 roundabout. The road turns into Route 25. Stay on Route 25 for 25 miles, following signs for Greenport.  Route 25 becomes Front St in Greenport village. The drive takes 2-2.5 hours from New York and about an hour from Islip airport.  

 

From Greenport to Ceremony: Head out of Greenport on Main St. Turn right on to Rte 48 (becomes Rte 25, then Main Rd). Follow 7.6 mi. House is on left, across from Orient By the Sea. Park in Ferry lot.

 

From Ceremony to Reception: Drive south 9.5 mi; the Soundview Restaurant will be on your right after the Soundview Inn.

 

TRANSPORTATION

Car:      Greenport is 90 miles from the city. The drive takes 2 to 2.5 hours. See

            directions above or mapquest link.

Train:    Long Island RR from Grand Central stops in center of town.

Air:       Closest airport is MacArthur Long Island in Islip (50 miles), which has most major carriers. If you aren't renting a car, you can arrange car service or take a $5 shuttle to the LIRR Ronkonkoma train station

 

LODGING

Hotels and b&b's within walking distance of town services are listed below. You can also rent a house for the weekend. If you have a group interested let us know as we’ve collected info on some in and around town. 

 

Townsend Manor Inn – Basic older hotel. Some rooms set up for more than 2. Mention Helminski/Burns wedding. (631) 477-2000

ÿ        Main Bldg: Range $190-$225. 9 rooms. These are new, have wireless, flat screens, etc. A couple have fireplaces. One has two queen beds and a sitting room with pullout; there is also an apartment that sleeps 6.

ÿ        Motel rooms: $120-$190. A few have have separate bedroom and living room with pullout, or sitting room with pullout, kitchenette.

 

The Greenporter – stylish renovated 60’s motel, rooms quoted at $199

 

Harborfront Inn – billed as the first luxury hotel in Greenport, rooms $200+ range

MORE on the area…

Some are talking up the North Fork as the new Napa. There a lot of vineyards. I have no idea if they are any good. There has also been an influx of NYC chefs opening restaurants in the area.  That said, it has a long way to go to be what you’d call fancy. Or California.  Some places/info:
